After a long
winter:
- Personnel changes! Michael has moved from bass in
the primary band to working his magic on an acoustic project
that we’ll be releasing sometime in late spring/early
summer on Sinister records. Our friend, Russ Vanover, has
since picked up the bass end of things and we’ve already
got a few old songs down while charging off into new material.
Welcome, Russ!
- Recording projects! We’re finishing up 6 songs
that we recorded over the past few months with the intention
of attaching them to 4 songs recorded in 2005 (the ill-fated
Comfort in the Cold project) with Joey Maas drumming. I’m
not sure exactly when or how these 10 songs will be released,
but it seems reasonable to say it will happen in summer/fall
of this year.
- As for the acoustic project: This is something of
a nod toward our earlier years, but of a much higher quality
in both recording technology and songwriting. Once the recording
is finished, we intend to play some live shows with the material
and see where it goes from there.
- Despite being released nearly 2 and a half years
ago, reviews for New Roman Twilight continue to trickle in.
I’ve added some recent ones to our Reviews
section.
- Live shows? Not until early summer for either project;
we’ve got recordings to contend with.
